Some people criticize the single core processor....but don't be fooled.
I've got an AMD dual core system as well as this AMD V120 single core.....and in the "real world" they ain't all that different in speed.
If you go to the Power Options and set the processor to "performance"...you'll get around 2 1/2 hours on the battery instead of a balanced 3 hours.
The REAL WORLD test for me was watching a Netflix instant online movie in HD while watching a real time horse race video at the same time....both using the wireless "G"....not N, but "G".....without any problems whatsoever.
Smooth as silk.
Windows 7 performance gadget showed the 2 gig memory at around 56% while watching these two videos and although CPU was over 80%, at times..and under 80% at other times, there was NO degregation whatsoever.
I'm loving this thing with its ATI Radeon 4250 HD video card and HD LED LCD screen.
Much, much better than skin deep nasayers.
I bought this at walmart for $298. It would be a great Machine for twice the price. August 23, 2010

I like this so much I bought one for my Married daughter and she loves it. Then My 40 year old son saw it and could not believe the deal and he bought one. All three of these replaced other more expensive laptops that have seen better days. It works great...I love watching streaming Video's thru the netfixs and the HDMI out put on the laptop. I play it to my 50 inch Samsung Plasma. I works like a champ. Easy to set up...very fast...can not tell it is only a single processor. Love Windows 7 Home Premium. How this machine can be sold so cheap is a mystery. If you need a laptop and see this one buy it. You will not be sorry.

I purchased this laptop three days ago. So far it is amazing. It is very fast and does a lot of different things. I will share that I purchased it at Walmart because they are having a back to school special right now in select stores and you can get this same model for 298.00 (340.00 after tax and recycling fee.) I also have tried the HDMI feature and it works great. I was able to set it up wit ha Sony Bravia and play back 1080p with no problems. Wow, that is amazing in my opinion. It does not have a Bluray drive, and I have yet to try HD playback with a file through the HD, but I am confident it will work. I will add more to this review if anything happens.
Uninstalling some of the software did speed it up. Especially the Norton and McAffee trial versions. I will probably use other open source methods for blocking malware, viruses, etc.
Linux users: Booted Ubuntu 10.4 LTS live CD with no issues. Still need to figure out how to activate the wireless. I have to press Fn F3 to turn on with Windows 7. Also it will detect the HDMI port, but I was unable to get an image on the HDTV. Hopefullly these bugs will be worked out.

How this seller can sell these at this price I'll never know, but WOW! Acer is a great product and you just can't go wrong if you want a great laptop at a reasonable price.
